Track lighting systems were previously only used in public spaces. However, in recent years, several track systems have been designed and priced for home lighting. The difference between 230V and 12V track systems: 12V requires a transformer, which extends the life and durability of the light sources. To dim a 12V track system, an electronic dimmer is needed. 230V systems do not require a transformer and can be dimmed using a standard dimmer.
